Teacher Bio: Julissa SabinoGeorgia Film Acting Teacher Photo

Julissa Sabino is a teaching artist who brings the color and vibrancy of her Dominican heritage to the art she creates! Whether it be collaborating on new works for littles such as The Lizard and El Sol (Alliance Theatre) or leading the artist community in conversations through her Anti-Racist 24/7 Book Club, she aims to preserve her roots while expanding on what it means to be a multi-faceted artist. When she’s not teaching, she’s in Newnan with her darling little toddler doing arts and crafts!
Julissa previously studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts at the Atlantic Theatre School. Learning the practical aesthetics technique has shaped how she approaches acting, whether on stage or on film. Focusing on scene/character analysis, and being rooted in the present are techniques she loves sharing with her students!
Julissa has been represented in Atlanta for 10 years now and has had the pleasure of gracing screens in numerous commercials for the American Cancer Society, Intel, Ford, OWN Network Disney, and others. You can also catch her as Gina in Tyler Perry’s If Loving You Is Wrong.
Atlanta Theatre credits: Elizabeth Darcy in Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley (Theatrical Outfit); Esmeralda in Hunchback of Notre Dame, Vanessa in In The Heights (Aurora/Theatrical Outfit); Rizzo in GREASE (Serenbe Playhouse); Spider in James and the Giant Peach, The Lizard and El Sol (Alliance Theatre); Sarah in The Toxic Avenger (Horizon Theatre Company); Mimi in RENT (Actor’s Express).
