  • What is the Trilith Institute?
    • The Trilith Institute is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the discovery, development, and professional advancement of storytellers who inspire the world.
  • How do Trilith Institute, Foundation, Town, and Studios differ?
    • While we all have the same mission – set the stage and enrich the lives of the story makers who inspire the world, we each play a different role. We at the institute focus on trying to bridge the gap for up-and-coming creatives trying to break into the above-the-line roles in the entertainment industry. We do this by providing professional education, created and led by current industry professionals, as well as by providing creative opportunities such as our Emerging Creative Residency and Creative Excellence Fellowship Grant.

 

Youth Programs – Summer Camp

  • Unsure of which Trilith Institute camp offering is right for you?
    • Don’t hesitate to reach out to us to talk through all your options. We are available Monday – Friday from 9 AM – 5 PM for phone calls at 678-379-9842 and emails at youthprograms@trilithinstitute.org
  • Financial Questions
    • What is the refund policy for these camps?
      • Campers will receive a refund in the amount of one-half of their full payment for cancellations up to 1 month before their selected camp starts; 25% refund up to 1 week before their selected camp starts; and no refunds will be given 6 days prior and beyond the start of their camp session. If the camp doesn’t fill and must be canceled, you will be notified, and we will refund you the full amount of the camp.
    • Are scholarships available to campers?
      • Yes! We are accepting scholarship applications for the Script to Screen Summer Camp Series. You can complete the application here. Please keep in mind that we have a limited number of available scholarships, which are competitive and considered by application only.
    • Can I sign up for multiple camps? Are there discounted rates for signing up for multiple camps?
      • Yes! You can create a summer camp experience perfectly tailored to your film industry interests. A discount will be applied at checkout when you add multiple camps to your shopping cart. Keep in mind that some of the camps are occurring simultaneously, so please pay attention when making your selections.
    • Can I use a payment plan to cover the cost of camp in installments?
      • Yes! Trilith Institute has implemented a payment plan option through Cheddar Up. On each camp registration page, you will see a link to the Cheddar Up page where you can reserve your camp spot and set up your payment plan. However, Cheddar Up does not allow us to incorporate the multi-camp discount. If you purchase multiple camps through a payment plan, please reach out to us directly at youthprograms@trilithinstitute.org so that we can ensure you get the correct discount through a partial refund.
    • As a Trilith resident, do I get a discount?
      • Yes! Before registering for camp, please send a picture of your photo ID listing a Trilith address to youthprograms@trilithinstitute.org with the subject line “Trilith Resident,” and you will receive a coupon code for 10% off your order.
    • Are there any discounts at local hotels for campers from out of town
      • Any out-of-town campers are welcome to use our discount codes for either the Guesthouse within the town of Trilith or the Hilton Peachtree City. After registering for the camp, you may reach out to youthprograms@trilithinstitute.org to inquire about those discount codes.
  • General Camp Questions
    • Is this an overnight camp?
      • No, each camp in the Script to Screen Summer Camp Series is a day camp running from 9AM – 4PM OR 10AM – 5PM Monday-Friday.
    • Is lunch provided?
      • No, we ask that each camper bring their own lunch each day. Snacks will be provided twice per day.
    • What should campers wear and bring each day of camp?
      • Campers should always dress to move comfortably, especially in the heat of summer.
      • Lunch will NOT be provided, so campers should bring their own lunch each day. There are refrigerators and microwaves on the premises.
      • Campers MUST bring a water bottle with them to camp each day. Hydration is important!
      • Campers MUST wear closed-toed shoes each day of camp.
      • Campers in the Episodic Screenwriting camp are encouraged to bring a computer with them each day to complete the screenwriting activities. 
      • Campers in the Writing and Production Camps are encouraged to bring a computer with them during week 1 to complete the screenwriting activities.
    • What is included in this camp experience?
      • Along with the camp activities outlined in the camp schedules, campers will also receive a tour of Trilith Studios, visits from guest speakers from the local film and TV industry, and Script to Screen Summer Camp swag.
    • What is the cell phone policy at camp?
      • Cell phones are not permitted at camp. This rule has been implemented for the safety of our campers. Campers are encouraged to leave their phones at home or in our collection receptacles at the start of each camp day.
      • Parents/guardians can contact their child by calling the camp staff at 678-379-9842.
      • If a camper has a medical concern that requires them to have their phone on them at all times, the medical concern must be disclosed to the camp staff in the paperwork submitted prior to the start of camp. The phone must remain in their bag for the entire day, and if they need to use their phone, it must be under the supervision of a camp staff member.
  • Camp Content Questions
    • What projects will campers create during the camps?
      • Throughout the Script to Screen Summer Camp Series, campers will work together to produce several projects:
        • High School Writing/Art and Writing/Tech Production Camps (Beginner and Advanced) – write scripts and prep for production first week, produce short films second week
        • High School Post-Production Camps – edit footage from the Writing/Art and Writing/Tech camps to create the final version of the short films
        • High School Animation Camps – Animation 1 will create the story and initial sketches for the characters and environment, Animation 2 will create key-frame movement of the animation, and Animation 3 will finalize the visuals and create the final edit of the animation
        • High School Screenwriting Camp – collaboratively write pilot scripts and subsequent episodes for an original new series
        • High School Directing Camp – collaborate with fellow campers to film a short scene
        • High School Video Game Design Camp – create the first level of your own adventure video game
        • Middle School Writing and Production Camp – collaborate with other campers to write, film, and edit original short films
        • Middle School Stop Motion Animation Camp – create your own stop-motion animation clip with hand-made stop motion puppets
        • Middle School Table Top Game Design Camp – create the beginning of your own table top role playing adventure game
        • Elementary Writing and Production Camp – collaborate with other campers to write, film, and edit original short films
    • Will there be a chance to watch the films produced during the Script to Screen Summer Camp Series?
      • Yes! Each of the short films, animations, and scripts created throughout the summer will be premiered or read at the Script to Screen Film Festival on Saturday, July 18. Campers from the Episodic Screenwriting Camp will also have the opportunity to have scenes from their scripts read aloud at a live table read during the film festival. All campers and their families and friends are invited to attend. More details to come.
    • Will the content produced in the camp be appropriate for my child?
      • We will not produce anything that exceeds G ratings. There will be no references, explicit or implied, to violence, sexual content, or anything else that would not be appropriate in a school setting. G may contain content that may not be suitable for all children. If for any reason, materials are not found to follow the expectations of Trilith Institute staff, alternative materials may be used for the advancement of camp activities.
    • Who will lead camp activities?
      • Each camp activity across all camps will be led by a film industry expert with years of experience in their respective department/field.

    • What camps are available to middle schoolers?

    • What camps are available for elementary school students?
      • Elementary Writing and Production (June 22-26)
    • Can graduating seniors participate in the Script to Screen Summer Camp series?
      • Yes! You can still participate in the Script to Screen Summer Camp series if you graduated in the previous semester.
    • Should rising 9th graders sign up for middle school or high school camps?
      • Rising 9th graders are welcome to sign up for either the middle school or high school camps, whichever are most appealing to you!
    • Should rising 6th graders sign up for elementary or middle school camps?
      • Rising 6th graders are welcome to sign up for either the elementary school or middle school camps, whichever are most appealing to you!
    • Can any elementary school student sign up for the elementary school camp?
      • Only 4th and 5th graders are eligible for the Elementary Writing and Production Camp. This includes rising 4th graders who just completed 3rd grade and rising 6th graders who have completed 5th grade. However, rising 6th graders are also eligible for the Middle School camps.
    • Does Trilith Institute have any offerings for me if I’m too old to attend these camps?
      • Yes! Check out our adult workshops and professional education courses.
    • Does Trilith Institute have any offerings for me if I’m too young to attend these camps?
      • While we don’t have too many opportunities for younger students, we do occasionally have workshop offerings for elementary students, and even babies! Check out our upcoming workshops to see if we have anything for you!

 

Professional Education

  • Do you have payment plans?
    • Not at this time. We are working to bring on payment plans to our portfolio of options.
  • Are there any prerequisites for courses?
    • The only courses with prerequisites are Storyboarding for TV Animation and TV Writing II: The Outline is Your Map course. For the Storyboarding for TV Animation course, students should already have skill sets in drawing fundamentals (constructive figure drawing, perspective drawing, composition, etc.) and be familiar with working digitally. Enrollees will therefore submit at least one of their digital drawings to the email professionaleducation@trilithinstitute.org. For the TV Writing II: The Outline is Your Map course, students will need to have completed the preceding course, TV Writing I: Pre-Writing, Story, and Building the Puzzle.
  • What is the refund policy for courses and workshops?
    • For Classes: Students will receive a refund in the amount of one-half of their full payment for cancellations up to 1 month before class; 25% refund up to 1 week before class starts; and no refunds will be given 6 days prior and beyond the start of class. If the class doesn’t fill and must be canceled, you will be notified, and we will refund you the full amount of the class.
    • For Workshops: Attendees will receive a refund in the amount of one-half of their full payment for cancellations up to 1 month before the workshop; 25% refund up to 1 week before the workshop starts; and no refunds will be given 6 days prior and beyond the start of the workshop. If the workshop doesn’t fill and must be canceled, you will be notified, and we will refund you the full amount of the workshop.
  • As a Trilith resident, do I get a discount?
    • Yes. Please send a picture of your photo ID listing a Trilith address to professionaleducation@trilithinstitute.org with the subject line “Trilith Resident,” and you will receive a coupon code for 10% off your order.
  • What kind of discounts do you get for enrolling in a course?
    • We provide discounts to our workshops for currently enrolled students.
  • Is there any type of certification for completing courses?
    • No, not at this time.
  • Are you accredited?
    • Not at this time. However, our courses are taught by industry professionals and designed to provide hands-on experience that improve students’ workforce readiness. Overall student leave our courses with practical skills to take to industry.
  • Where do courses take place?
    • The majority of our courses take place in person at the Trilith Studios Production Centre (461 Sandy Creek Rd Fayetteville, GA 30214). However, we have several virtual course options as well.
  • What happens after I enroll in a course?
    • You will receive an email with course instructions and paperwork a week or so before your first class. Please check your spam folder if you enrolled and did not receive an email. If you checked spam and still did not find an email, please contact professionaleducation@trilithinstitute.org or call 678.379.9842.

WE'RE JUST GETTING STARTED
