Please note: students do have graded assignments, assessments, and projects and will receive a final grade in this course. Grades demonstrate a student’s ability to apply their understanding and mastery of concepts taught in this course. *Those receiving a grade of 80 (B) or above in the course will receive a “Certificate of Completion.” Complete 3 of the Trilith Institute’s Professional Education Courses, and you will receive the “Trilith Institute Outstanding Achievement in Film Arts.” In addition, if you have completed 3 courses and our Mastering Self-Marketing workshop, you will be eligible to submit an original project for consideration for our Creative Excellence Fellowship Grant, with a potential award of up to $10,000.

Meet the Course Instructor & Creator: Eric Whitten, Owner/Coach, Hollywood South Self-Tapes

Eric is a New York-trained, award-winning filmmaker and actor with almost 20 years of professional experience. As a filmmaker, Eric has produced over a dozen projects in recent years. His short films have won awards and been presented at festivals across the country, including the Academy Award Qualifying LA Shorts, Chelsea Film Festival, Big Apple Film Festival, and many more. He was awarded a finishing grant for his short film, Chalk by FilmInk Magazine and is a member of FilmShop NYC, Performance Jam ATL, and The Collective at the Alliance Theatre.
Eric’s feature film EAT was a semi-finalist at the StoryPro Awards and Atlanta Film Festival screenplay contests. He has written and directed over 80 custom film scenes for actors and owns Hollywood South Self Tapes, an audition taping studio for actors in Atlanta, Georgia, where he has used his expertise as a coach for the last 3 years.
His more notable acting credits include TILL (MGM) opposite Danielle Deadwyler, Long Slow Exhale (Spectrum) opposite Josh Lucas, and The Jim Gaffigan Show (TV Land) opposite Jim Gaffigan, to name a few.
