Grades 6-12
Campers will work with film industry expert instructors who will teach them the basics of working with filmmaking equipment. The campers will come together to form production teams, taking on various roles on set during the production of two original short films, which were written by students in our Weekend Writers Workshop. This footage will be edited by campers in the Post-Production Camp the following week, and the completed films will be premiered at the Script to Screen Film Festival.
Grades 6-12 Campers will work with expert screenwriters, explore and discuss the qualities of compelling storytelling, and collaborate with their peers to develop original short screenplays. These scripts will be produced by campers in the Advanced Production Camp, and edited by campers in the July Post-Production camp. Final projects will premiere at the Script to Screen Film Festival.
Grades 9-12 Campers will work with film industry expert instructors and collaborate with their peers, forming production teams and taking on various roles on set during the production of two original short films, which were written by students in the previous Screenwriting Camp. This footage will be edited by campers in the Post-Production Camp the following week, and the completed films will be premiered at the Script to Screen Film Festival.
Grades 9-12 Campers will work with expert screenwriters as they explore and discuss the qualities of compelling storytelling. Participants may choose to develop their own original screenplay independently, or they may choose to collaborate with fellow campers to co-write a screenplay. Because the scripts written in this Advanced Screenwriting Camp will not be produced in a Script to Screen Production Camp, writers have more creative freedom to develop their stories in any way they choose. Campers will have the opportunity to have their scripts performed in a live table read by actors from the Alliance Theatre during the Script to Screen Film Festival.
