This year, Trilith Institute is launching camps designed for middle school students. Each of these one-week camps are filled with hands-on activities that emphasize the importance of working together and developing creative storytelling skills. Campers will walk away from these camps with practical filmmaking and storytelling skills that can be achieved through the use of everyday items, so they can continue telling stories when they leave camp.
Spend a week deep-diving into the world of animated storytelling through hands-on activities led by animation experts. Mornings will be spent working with ASIFA South experts to create original stop-motion animation shorts. Small groups of campers will work together to use craft supplies and an ipad to tell a simple story.
All shorts will be recorded and compiled together to be presented at the end of camp, Script to Screen Film Festival. Afternoons will have campers working on individual flip-book animations, which campers will be able to take home with them at the end of camp.
